Asifa India announces Official International Animation Day 26 Poster illustrated by Yoriko Mizushiri

Asifa India‘s International Animation Day 2026 is more than a celebration of animation; it is a reflection on its journey, legacy, and future.

We are delighted to share the official IAD 2026 Poster, beautifully designed by internationally acclaimed animation filmmaker Yoriko Mizushiri.
The poster is a powerful visual metaphor for animation itself. Countless hands—those that create, support, mentor, and carry the craft forward—come together as one unified work. The image of scissors poised to cut the translucent tape binding these hands can be seen as both an ending and a beginning, capturing the delicate balance between continuity and transformation.
A single thread runs throughout the artwork, symbolizing both a drawn line and the passage of time. Emerging from the tip of a pencil, it represents the moment when imagination comes alive and begins to move-the very essence of animation.
Yoriko Mizushiri’s remarkable body of work explores touch, sensation, and everyday experiences through distinctive visual storytelling. Her acclaimed films include Futon, Kamakura, Maku, Anxious Body (winner of 15 international awards), and Ordinary Life, which received the Silver Bear Award for Best Short Film at the Berlin International Film Festival 2025.
